A Regular Storm
Rolling sky blast beatsLead by taiko clatters and strikes–
Flashes of spot lights
Reveal white, gray, blackened shades
While a deluge cascades
Fat droplets through live oaks.
Cooper Hall, USF, Florida
Monotone sound waves
Bombard the inner drum;
Idle chatter is birdsong
That lightens the mood.
Avian Leaves
Bluejay fly by
Avian chatter overhead
Gentle breeze settles leaves
Shovel hand
Velociraptor hand
Bent, taut, jerky responses.
Nails shovel and mark
Skin, sheets, book pages.
Sharing the Roads
Connected by rubber and leather
Eyes on asphalt, voices on the phone, ears tune in to the radio.
I vow with all beings
to appreciate the company along the drive
Golden Hoards
Reading of hoards and the Wellton 26
all for college classes.
May the bones rest in the shifting sands
and the spirits unearth the unknown past.
Frightened Anger
Anger: a friend of ill-will
that lunges and lashes out.
I vow with all beings
to face the frightened self it is
Abled Reason
As ill will floods all reasoning
I vow with all beings
To evoke the image of my parents
And see the Able that is my true self
The Heart and The Mind
When the heart races
And the mind follows
I vow with all beings
To accept and embrace every ill moment.
